Harvey Hemp wins capacity boosting govt. grant

Harvey Hemp is pleased to have been announced as one of eight recipents in round five of the RED Grant - South West and will receive $50 000 to help it scale going foward.

The announcement was made in Bunbury with the Regional Development Minister Alanna MacTiernan (pictured above with the Harvey Hemp directors at the recent Albany Agricultural Show) who spoke of the impact these grants have had on the economy of the region.

"With the latest funding allocations, RED Grants will continue to support growth and diversification in regional Western Australia - supporting business, industry and jobs," said the Minister in a statement.

Harvey Hemp was awarded $50 000 which will part-fund the purchase of capacity-building equipment to help it meet the rising demand being experienced in the sector.

"We thank the Minister and the Department for selecting Harvey Hemp as a recipient of this funding and believe that this shows an increasing confidence not only in our company, but in the industrial hemp industry as a whole," said director Greg LeGuier.

Since its launch in 2020, Harvey Hemp has expanded its grower network across the South West and commenced selling its locally-grown and processed hemp seed oil products wholesale and directly to consumers online.
