Absolutely! Hemp seed oil has many benefits for your pet.
It is an anti-inflammatory agent and can have a very positive impact on animals that suffer from arthritis for example.
Hemp seed oil is also well known to improve a range of skin conditions in animals and will help give your pet a shiny coat.
As with any new dietary supplement, try it in small doses first in case of a reaction. Choose a patch of skin and apply a drop or two to the area. Wait 24 hours and if the patch remains normal, you are good to go. If you are unsure, consult your veterinarian.
Hemp and Marijuana are both versions of the cannabis plant – cannabis sativa. Simply put, hemp refers to cannabis that contains 0.3% or less tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) – the chemical that gives users a ‘high’.
Conversely, marijuana is cannabis that contains significant amounts of THC and is illegal in Western Australia.
Harvey Hemp only grows industrial hemp under license from the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development which acts as the Registrar for the Industrial Hemp Act 2004 in Western Australia. This legislation enables licensees to cultivate, harvest and/or process industrial hemp for food and fibre on a commercial scale.
Hemp seed oil can be used as a hair oil or added to hair care products such as shampoos and conditioners. To use as a hair oil, apply a small amount to the scalp and hair, massaging in gently. Leave it on for 20-30 minutes before washing it off with shampoo. You can also use it as a hot oil treatment, by heating the oil and applying it on the scalp and hair, wrapping it with a shower cap for 30 minutes and then washing it off.
